Guest Talk

We had Ryd Cook come and speak to us and give his personal advice and guidance on the processes of planning and shooting short films. He had made a short film himself that we watched called ‘Single to London’ which was shot on an iPhone 6+.

He spoke about planning like the use of a storyboarding or shooting schedule to help with production and organisation. He also spoke about casting and the reliability within the actors especially when there’s a higher number. He emphasised the importance of editing in post which wasn’t an issue for me as I had already planned on just doing the screenplay and evaluation.

We also had a guest come in and teach us how to format and layout a script, giving us tips and tricks along the way.
